Jaipur Chalein

In Artist’s Words

In this painting, I wanted to capture the intricate beauty of Hawa Mahal through a single window rather than depicting the monument in its entirety. I have always been drawn to its delicate details, arches, patterns, and ornamental character, and I wanted to focus on one small part that holds the essence of the whole structure.
You might notice that the perspective is slightly tilted. I wanted it to feel more like the way we remember places we love, through feeling and memory, rather than the way a photograph records them. For me, this painting is about pausing at one little window and appreciating the beauty hidden within the details.

Every original painting features multiple layers of paint and visible brushstrokes. Surface texture, raised paint, and natural variations are intentional characteristics of the artwork and are not considered flaws.

Colours may appear slightly different across screens and under varying lighting conditions.
